The Business Website and Blog
Websites and blogs for business are a given. It takes a small upfront investment and a bit of web design and development knowledge to create a website and blog. SEO is a huge part of getting your website indexed, so make sure to use keyword rich content and user-friendly navigation to appeal to both search engines and consumers.
Website and blog content should be updated regularly and while PLR, or private label rights, content is acceptable once in a while, fresh content that has never been indexed by search engines always provides a better result that reused content published all over the Internet.
Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
Three of the top social media networks are Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Facebook and Twitter provide update integration, so businesses can update one and the other will propagate the post. This can reduce time spent updating social media networks, if Facebook posts are formatted correctly. Check out this article on How to Format Facebook Posts for Twitter Update.
LinkedIn is a completely different social media website, but one with just as much influence as Facebook and Twitter. LinkedIn is the place where a business can communicate with other businesses in the same sector or with potential clients and consumers. The LinkedIn bio should read professional and list all relevant awards, certifications, and connections in business.
Taking Care of the Little Bits and Backlinks
Backlinks, the terms used for URLs attached to keywords posted throughout the Internet, are important to traffic building for a main website, social media front page, or professional online portfolio. Social bookmarking has been popular for quite some time, but remains one of the least utilized concepts in business social media marketing. There are aggregate websites that offer a one-stop shop to many online social bookmarking websites. Set up can take some time, however. Before social bookmarking, businesses need to create an account with each website. The top include DIGG, Technorati, NewsVine, and Delicious. Industry specific social bookmarking websites are also available like Fark and HealthRanker.
