How to Create Disney Themed Easter Eggs: Bring Some of Mickey and Many Other Disney Characters into Your Easter Traditions

Even as animation transforms into all CG feature films children will grow up and enjoy the classic Disney animated tales like Cinderella and Snow White. When Easter rolls around and it is time to make eggs for the Easter egg hunt, one of the best ways to design them is using a Disney theme. Here are a variety of ways to design Disney themed Easter eggs.

Mickey: One of the most recognizable animated characters is Disney's famous Mickey Mouse. To create a Mickey Mouse designed egg is simple and only requires a few steps. The first step is to get a hardboiled egg. Taking a black sharpie, color the whole egg completely black. The marker dries quick so after coloring it in the first time, take a glance around the egg to see if there are any spots you can fill in again for improvement.

Now take a white sheet of paper and create two large circles about the size of a dime for the eyes. Then create two large circles about the size of a quarter to represent the ears. Put a small black dot in the center of each eye circle and cut them out. Use super glue to apply the eyes to the higher half of the egg. Next fill in the quarter sized circles completely black and cut them out. Use glue to apply the two ears to the top of the head by folding a small part of the bottom of each ear to get it to stand correctly.

The same format can be applied to the eggs for Minnie Mouse, just cut out a small pick bow and glue it on the egg between both big ears.

Pinocchio: The wooden doll who became a real boy is a classic Disney animated tale and instead of creating him out of wood, you can actually make a Pinocchio egg. First, take a hard boiled egg and dye it a light brown or tan color. The best way to achieve this is by just buying a dozen tan eggs or dipping in a brown dye for shorter than usual. Once the egg is colored and dried used mixed media like paper, markers, and other things to draw on the face, minus the nose. Creating the famous big nose is simple. Using super glue and a toothpick, simply cut the toothpick in half, apply a small dab of superglue and hold it gently against the egg shell. Within seconds the trademark nose will be attached and you will have a Pinocchio egg!

Genie: One of the most popular characters from the Aladdin series is the crazy blue Genie. Genie grants Aladdin three wishes and shows off a lot more magic, including a lot of comedy throughout the popular trilogy. Creating the Genie as an egg is easy. Simply put a hardboiled egg in a cup of blue dye and keep there for a couple of minutes to get a bright blue like the Genie. Once the egg is pulled out and dry, create two dime sized eyes on a white sheet of paper, cut them out, and then apply them using superglue. Kids will automatically recognize the trademark Disney character.

Cats and Dogs: Many Disney films featured animals, but one of the most popular is the Dalmatian from 101 Dalmatians. These are easy to create as eggs, just take a black marker and apply a ton of spots on a white hard boiled egg. You can add paper eyes if you want, but your children will get the idea when they see all of the spots.

The Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland is a popular and colorful creation that would look great on any Easter egg. To create this you simply have to design purple and pink stripes all the way around the egg. Once that is completed you can apply skinny cat-like eyes for the full effect.

There are so many characters and Disney movies that the possibilities are endless, but if you use these tips and apply them to other characters then you can have cartons full of Disney Easter eggs.
