If you are wanting to create your own wedding reception centerpieces, this is an excellent do it yourself idea. This look is classy and elegant for any wedding reception. One of the best aspects of this centerpiece idea is that it will go with any colors that you are using and any type of decor. Follow these steps to create your own etched glass centerpiece.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

First you will need square glass vases. The vases should be about 5 or 6 inches wide as well as 5 or 6 inches tall, they need to be perfectly square. Next, you will need to get a glass etching kit. These can be found in most craft stores or online. You will also need a round white pillar candle that is about 7 or 8 inches tall and some white sand. You want the candle to be tall enough to stick out of the top of the vase.

MAKE YOUR ETCHED GLASS CENTERPIECE:

The first step in making your etched glass centerpiece is to decide what you want to etch into your glass. Do you want the initial of the groom's last name or maybe the first initial of the bride and groom's first names? Next, you need to make sure that your glass vase is clean and streak free. Once it is clean follow the directions on the etching kit to etch your chosen letter into the glass.

After you are finished etching the glass, fill the bottom of the glass vase with some white sand. Only put about 2 inches of sand into the bottom of the glass vase. Once you have added the sand to the vase, simply stick the pillar candle into the sand and push it down a little so that it will stand up on it's own.

For a fun twist on this centerpiece, you could use sand that matches your wedding colors. You could even swirl two colors of sand in the bottom of the vase that match your wedding colors. Have fun with it, make it yours, and make it unique.
