Flowers, Decorations, Apparel, and More

Planning a wedding can be one of the most exciting tasks a woman will perform in her life. And for the bride that wants a certain theme not only will she have more work to do she may spend more time trying to pull all the elements together.

Today it seems as if more and more ladies are opting for a Hawaiian theme which is one of the easiest to plan as there are minimal and inexpensive items that need to be purchased or rented.

Here is an overview of how to create a Hawaiian themed wedding and all the elements a bride will need to incorporate to make it a success.

Colors, decor, and flowers-When planning a Hawaiian themed wedding, brides will want to capture the beauty of this romantic island by choosing the right colors, decor, and flowers. Choosing light pink, yellow, and white for the wedding colors is a great way to demonstrate the aesthetic beauty of Hawaii and selecting Dendrobium Orchid Blossoms, Plumeria, and loose Ti Leaves for the flowers is a perfect choice as they are tropical and commonly used in Hawaii.

Invitations and Favors- Since brides are trying to keep within the Hawaiian theme, the invitations and wedding favors should reflect the colors that were chosen. The wedding invitations should be cream colored with light pink Plumeria flowers on the outside and inside the invitation there are small pictures of sea shells, Hawaiian Leis, and Palm trees. For the wedding favors brides can purchase Hawaiian Sea Salt and wrap it in organza bags and tie it with a ribbon or they can purchase pink and yellow floating candles shaped like Plumeria flowers and put them inside a decorative box.

Wedding Apparel- The bride should wear a Ku'uipo Wedding Holoku with white flip flops or she can go barefooted. She can wear a white tuberose on her head in place of a veil, and a White Orchid Lei around her neck. The bridesmaids can wear a pink dress with spaghetti straps with white flowers, decorative hair accessories, flip flops, and a thin White Orchid Lei around their neck. The groom should wear a Keoni Hawaiian wedding shirt with white pants, sandals or bare feet, and a fresh or silk Maile Lei. The groomsmen can wear a cream colored shirt which will match the bridesmaids' dresses, khaki pants, and sandals.

Ceremony Site Decor and Set-up-To truly demonstrate a Hawaiian theme brides should choose a ceremony venue that is located outside. Preferably in a location that contains grassy areas and a simple gazebo. The ceremony site should be adorned with 24 light pink and yellow Dendrobium Orchid Blossoms and every row of guest seats should be decorated with simple Hawaiian Garland made from Plumeria flowers and loose Ti Leaves. Brides should station 2 Tiki Torches at the entrance of the garden area and station 4 Tiki Torches surrounding the gazebo, which will be decorated with Hawaiian Garland.

Reception Site Decor and Set-up-The reception site can be at any location and unless the bride is getting married in Hawaii it should be in an indoor venue such as a hotel ballroom or country club. The reception site will be decorated with the same colors as the ceremony site. Brides will want to border the dance floor and DJ area with yellow and pink twinkle lights. They can station palm trees in the corners and/or borders of the room, the bar should be decorated to resemble a grass hut with Hawaiian Garland and Plumeria flowers being its edging. A top of each guest table, guest book table, and the escort card table sits pink and yellow Plumeria flowers and Ti Leaves while the head table is adorned with Hawaiian Garland and Plumeria Flowers.

Entertainment/Music-The entertainment or music at a wedding reception should be something that captures the tropical theme of Hawaii. Brides can have the DJ play authentic Hawaiian music cd's such as "Best of Sunday Manoa," "Israel Kamakawiwo'ole," "Gabby Pahinui," or "Keali'i Reichel." In addition brides can have live performances by a Tahitian drummer, a Samoan Fire Show, or Polynesian dancers which will add to the overall Hawaiian theme.

Many of these items can be purchased at an affordable price while others must be rented so before a bride opts for a Hawaiian theme she'll want to make sure her budget allows for it.

Since every bride is different her color choices and flower selections may vary but these ideas can be used as a good starting point, guide, or outline when trying to create a tropical and beautiful Hawaiian themed wedding.
