Anyone can become a podcast content producer with a little time and minimal investment. It's easy to get into podcasting and to start your own podcast. Setting up a podcast in terms of equipment and expense is so simple that it's no wonder so many have become interested in this new video revolution. Broadcasting from anywhere in the world, and around the world, just about anyone can develop an audience and a following.

Podcasting allows for easy downloading of video files, and thus distributing content to the audience with ease and speed. Websites are discovering the benefits of using podcasts as a marketing tool, and to keep subscribers updated on new services or products. As the audience grows, the profits increase. Podcasting is also a valuable tool in sharing news and information.

There are some very simple steps to be taken in order to have your podcast video creations on the web and ready for subscribers to begin viewing.

The first step to beginning your own podcast in to have a domain name and web hosting for the domain name. Since you need to be able to upload files to the web server, using a blogging type site will not work. You will need to register a domain name with a site such as GoDaddy.com and get web hosting for the site. GoDaddy.com also has web hosting. The hosting company you choose will need to support php files.

After you have the site up, you will need to have a file program known as dircaster.php. This file can be found by doing a search for that file name in a search engine such as Google. Once found, it will need to be edited to pertain to your site, and uploaded to your ftp web host server.

This file is how you will generate the RSS feed that subscribers will download to view your podcast. Your mp3 files need to be uploaded to the same directory that the dircaster.php file is in. This will generate an RSS feed file that will enable subscribers to your podcast to download the podcasts and tell them the location of the latest episodes. New creations and updates are simply added to the same directory. When the dircaster.php is accessed, the new mp3 file is noted and your subscribers are notified of the newest file available.

Domain name buying and web site hosting are so inexpensive that it makes it easy for just about anyone to set up their own podcast. Be sure when looking for a web host that they offer a large amount of disk storage space and bandwidth.

Once the podcasts are uploaded to the site, you will only need to get word out about your podcasts. This can be done by word of mouth, through friends and family, mailing list subscribers, etc.

Podcasting has become an online trend. With the widespread use of broadband internet connection services, creating podcast videos has become popular and used as a marketing tool. Podcast video files can be downloaded and viewed by users. Podcast videos are part of the popular internet blogging boom.
