How to Create an Irresistible a Product Lineup Catalog for Your Business

When you have a large product line, it can be difficult figuring out an efficient way of marketing them. This is where a catalog comes in. Such a solid, proven and successful strategy can give any business the opportunity to put their large collection of product or product lines directly in front of a large client base. You're actually putting your entire warehouse into a customer's house, giving them direct access to your inventory, and thanks to the effectiveness of mailing lists, you can be certain that your catalogs are being sent to the people most likely to benefit from (and purchase) your items.

But such catalogs rarely come easily without proper planning. A badly designed catalog will do just as much to turn a prospective client away as a well-designed catalog will draw such customers in. Here are a few of the more important aspects to think about when you design your catalog:

Each item you sell needs to have a headline that grabs the reader's attention. The advantages of such a tactic are obvious. Don't simply write the product's name in the headline, but try to think of specifics about that product where you can highlight its benefit to the customer. Don't be afraid to get a little creative. Every product you sell will feature this kind of headline.

In general, those who purchase from you will want to know the specifics of the product they're purchasing. You can write whatever you want about each product in the space below the headline, so try to use it as efficiently as possible. Reel your customers in with that all-important headline so you can give them all the information they need in the space below it.

You don't have to devote the same amount of space per page for every single product you sell. Use the design of your catalog to its fullest potential. Is one product a consistent favorite among your clients? Is it a limited edition of sorts, or a brand new item in your lineup? Do what you can to highlight the item in print, so the reader will definitely see it. Every facet of the catalog can be utilized to create the image you want. Don't feel like you're stuck with simplicity.

It's frustrating when a client can't contact you, so make sure you include the necessary information in a prominent place. If you have a phone number, email address, or website, make sure they can find the information with ease. A catalog needs to be easy to use, read, and contact the business owner from (not necessarily in that order), making people feel like they can trust both you and your products. Forgetting to put contact information in a convenient location can hurt you if a customer wants to purchase something but has a few questions first.

Having a large product line can be a chore to advertise. Because of this, many businesses often resort to advertising only their biggest sellers. Catalogs can go a long way in advertising a much larger product line, so you would do well to utilize this strategy.
