How to Create a Matador Costume for Halloween

Alicia Bodine
A matador is also called a torero. Matadors entertain audiences while they fight bulls. This practice is common in Spain, France, and Mexico. If your son or daughter is looking for something unique to be this Halloween, he or she may want to consider becoming a matador. You don't have to spend a fortune for a costume that your child is only going to wear once. Matador costumes can be made at home.

You will need the following items:

Red knee high stockings
Tight black pants
White dress shirt
Black beret
Black dress shoes
Black tie
Red cape

Follow these steps:

Step1:
Put on a pair of knee-high red stockings. You can wear regular red stockings if you don't have any knee-highs.

Step 2:
Pull a pair of tight black pants up over the red-knee highs. Capri style would be best. If you can find a pair of tight black pants that are shiny, use them.

Step 3:
Use a white dress shirt for the top of the matador costume. The dress shirt could be plain, or it could have ruffles.

Step 4:
Set a black beret on your head, and slip on a pair of black dress shoes over your feet.

Step 5:
Add a black tie and a red cape to complete the matador look.

Tips:
If you have any gold ribbon, you can run a strip down each side of your tight black pants.

Slick back your hair if you are a boy. If you are a girl, you should style your hair in two buns just over your ears.
