How to Create a Memorable Baby Shower

Allison
Baby showers can become wonderful memories for expectant mothers. If you are in charge of planning a baby shower for someone you love, there are some things you can do to make the event more exciting and memorable.

First, make sure the guests are all people that the expectant mother will want in attendance. Unless the shower is a surprise, have the mother look over and approve the list before the invitations are sent out. After the guest list is finalized, you will know how many guests are expected to attend. From this you can determine how much food and favors you will need. You can also make sure you hold the shower in an appropriately sized facility.

There are many places where you can throw the baby shower. Your house, if you have enough room or even the expectant mother's house if she agrees. This will make it easy for her to put away all of the gifts without having to pack them in a vehicle and bring them home. If there are a lot of guests (more than can comfortably fit in a home) you can find a local hall or even a hotel that will rent out a room. No matter where the shower is held, you will want to look at it ahead of time to be able to plan for the decorations. Decorations can really set the scene and the mood. If you have a small budget, there are many discount stores that have baby shower items. If your budget is not tight, you can use more elaborate decorations and change the look of the entire room.

When planning for the food, you should know what time of the day the shower is going to take place. Is the shower going to be held for lunch or perhaps in the mid-afternoon? If your budget will allow, having the shower catered will be the best way to go. There are many things you can do on your own that will save money, but a caterer will make the even that much more special while saving planning time for you.

One way to make the even memorable for the expectant mother is to create a book for her. Have someone write down all of the gifts received. Also, have everyone who attends the shower to write down something meaningful for the expectant mother. Whether it is motherly advice or something about the mother, she will cherish these thoughts for years to come.
