How to Create More Space in a Single Wide Mobile Home Trailer
Space Saving Tips to Make Your Life Simpler
First and for most, If you have the space outside and can afford it I would recommend a storage building. You can purchase a new one, but we looked in the classifieds and found a cheap one. After securing it you can add shelves and turn it into a storage heaven.
For your closets I would suggest a closet organizer, you can buy them at any hardware store like Lowe's and home depot. I have these in all of my closets and thats where I store all my blankets and our games, family pictures ( not in albums yet) and our clothes.
Under the sink storage is available too. This helps with your shampoo's, soaps, lotions and wash cloths. And then your cleaning supplies as well. For under your bed you can buy the storage containers that are really long and slide right under the bed( a genius had to have invented this) Its perfect for extra sheets, summer/winter clothes, and if you have a food saver or equivalent then you can shrink the clothes down and have twice the storage. Trust me these are nice to have.
Organize- sit down and rearrange your kitchen first, make sure you have one place for everything. If you have duplicates of things (other than food of course) Throw or give them away, Do the same thing through out the whole house if you have not used something in 3 months or more get rid of it. By reorganizing and reducing your clutter you will have more space.
My husband built shelves for me in the laundry room from floor to ceiling, making my extremely small laundry room seem more spacious, and I now have places for my laundry cleaners and my towels. Now If you do not have a laundry room, build shelves over your washer and dryer and utilize that space for your laundry cleaners or towels, you want to get your house organized in a way that all items that you use in a particular room are there and not scattered through out the house.
We replaced our bulky entertainment center, and went with a smaller TV stand instead, it created more space and made the living room look better too.
If you entertain company, but don't have the room for overnight guests, a couch with a pullout bed or blow-up mattress is ideal.
We also chucked the large dresser that took up a lot of space, and kept the armoir and then put the remainder of our clothes in our closet storage system, that really created a roomier look in our master bedroom.
We picked a wall in our hallway and hung all of our pictures in frames, and then stored all of our picture albums on our bookshelf.
Anything to create more space is a plus, and Taking out some of your bigger and bulkier furniture that you have will make a big difference too.

Post a CommentVery good tips especially for those who own their own place,
Good tips-- I live in a cape cod, so I made the dormer in our master bedroom into a closet and got rid of dressers.
This really applies to everyone in every type of house. Who doesn't need more storage space? And throwing things out/giving them away is key...so many duplicates of things! Great writing.
Good tips!
