When you're getting together the materials for your Mother's Day time capsule, you should include all your siblings, and even Dad, in order to make the gift especially memorable. Ask the family to help you to find baby pictures for each of your brothers and sisters, and see if you can locate pictures of you and Mom at the hospital on the day you were born to add to the time capsule. You can also add photos of Mom during pregnancy, and even pics of her before she became a mother so that the capsule will serve as part of a timeline.
You should also include things like your favorite baby toys, or items that were a staple in your childhood. If you had a favorite blanket, or can still locate the first gift that Mom ever gave you as a baby, these will make great additions to the Mother's Day time capsule. A rattle, teething ring, or christening outfit ar great items, and it's also a good idea to give Mom more treasures like the first Mother's Day card you ever gave her, or the first letter you ever wrote her telling her how great she was.
A current letter from each of your siblings (and from Dad) explaining the importance of the time capsule and the love you have for Mom should also go in the capsule. This way, when Mom opens the capsule to look back on this Mother's Day, she'll not only be reminded of her first Mother's Day with you, but of the holiday you and your siblings decided to give her a gift that would lock those memories in time.
When it's time to bury the capsule, you don't necessarily have to take it outside. Hiding it away in the attic, or giving it to Mom so that she can look at it whenever she wants is also a great ideal. But, don't forget about the bouquet of flowers and breakfast in bed that Mom deserves every Mother's Day! Good luck!
