How to Create OUT SIDER Art from Found Objects

What is Out sider art ?
Out sider art
is in the eye of the beholder. Letting yourself unwind through artful expression is a gift to ones self. No rules to follow, colors emerge without reason. Out sider art can be created on tattered paper or found wood. Any surface is acceptable. As is any type of application. Out sider art is a mix of materials. Markers, color pencils, ink, and even crayons. Tin foil, beads, scrabble letters, and even match book covers. Any and all bits collected can be incorporated into out sider art. Out sider art has no limitations.

Where To Create Out Sider Art
I've seen out sider art created on throw away product containers. Bust open that empty box of cereal to reveal a perfect canvas. Clean card board stock just screaming for your artistic flair. You don't have to be a great artist, or even be able to draw a straight line. Children are wonderful out sider artists. No fear of coloring out side the lines. A pink tree and a person with three eyes comes alive inside a child's mind. Creating out side of the box is easier than you think.

Out Sider Art Materials
Be on the look out for scraps that will fulfill your out sider art pieces. A strip of lace, junk mail, or even paper clips that can be bent into other shapes. Out sider art can be a flat piece or one of altered materials. Dimensional or not, out sider art is an art form. Some may think that art has to be a certain way, or it isn't art at all. I believe art is freedom of expression.

My Out Sider Art
I created this piece of out sider art to show you a simple example. What once held corn flakes is now a piece of art! It can be framed or tacked on a wall as is. I used many colors. Colored pencil, markers, and black ink. I sat down and started to draw, with out a plan or idea. I can't say what it is exactly. To someone, a monster. To another, their boss. To yet another, they may have saw him in a dream. I don't know where he came from. I do know that if it wasn't for me, he wouldn't exist.

Don't limit yourself to the art of others. Create your own. You never know what you can do, unless you try it.
