How to Create Your Own Blog on Blogger

Are you newer to the Internet and want to start your own Blog? Why not try making one on Blogger. It's simple but this article is a short tutorial to get you started.

Type in www.blogger.com on your browser and click the orange arrow that says "create your blog now."

It will take you to a page that has a form to fill out. First you fill in the space with your current email address. This email address will be used each time you log in to update or change your blog on blogger.

Next you will think of a unique password to go along with your user name (which will be your email address.) The password must be at least 8 characters long. The characters can be letters or numbers or a combination of the two. Just as long as it's 8 characters long. And you will type that in the space for password on the middle of the web page.

There is a link beneath the password that says "password strength" which you can click to determine how secure the password your choice will be. You might want to click that to see how strong the password you've chosen is according to blogger.

Next you will retype the password you've chosen in the space provided.

The next space on the form is for "Display Name." That is like a byline added at the bottom of all your posts. Like if I typed in one, I might put "Lyrical Lady7" as my display name or I might put in "S.T." for my initials.

Then there is a bunch of staggered letters for word verification. Blogger wants to make sure you are an actual individual person creating a blog. In the space provided type what you see of the letters as you read them in whatever upper or lower case they are.

Next you will see a box that asks if you agree to Blogger's terms of service. There is a link next to the box that you can click to go to a page that refers you to the terms of service agreement. If you choose to continue after reading the Blogger's terms of service, click on the box and then click the orange arrow on the lower right hand side that says "continue."

Now it's time to name your blog. Enter the title you want for your blog in the first space of the form on this page. Then type in the web address you want your blog to be. You can click the link below it to check and see if the name you've chosen is available.

If by any chance you want to set up your blog somewhere besides blogspot you can click the link for advanced blog set up instead.

When you are done with that page click the orange arrow on the lower right that says continue.

The next page will show templates to choose from. Look through the templates available and select one. Then click the continue arrow and you're done. You now have a blog all your own on Blogger!
