How to Have a Create Your Own Pasta Party

Dinner parties are a popular way for good friends and family to meet up more often, and many of these have a common theme or style. Often times, people who regularly host dinner parties are looking for a new idea or concept. This guide for how to have a create your own pasta party is a great way to spice up a standard dinner party, and it's easy to do, too!

To have a create your own pasta party, you first want to decide if you, as the host, are making all of the dishes or if you would prefer it to be potluck style. If you are serving all of the pastas, sauces, and ingredients, you may want to first check with the guests on your guest list about what types of pasta they enjoy, as well as what types of ingredients and sauces they like. You should also check to see if any of your guests may have a food allergy to items such as wheat, nuts, eggs, dairy, soy, certain spices, and so forth.

If you plan to host your create your own pasta party potluck style, instead. You can decide if you want to make all of the pastas, or have each of your guests bring a pasta, sauce, or other ingredients. You can ask for people to let you know what they're bringing, so you don't have duplicates or leave it as a surprise. Regardless, there are a variety of different options of dishes to serve or have people bring:

Pastas: Spaghetti, Linguine, Capellini, Fettuccine, Pappardelle, Fusilli, Penne, Ziti, Cavatelli, Farfalle, Orechiette, Rotini, Gnocchi, etc., as well as filled pastas, like Tortellini and Ravioli

Sauces: Tomato, Marinara, Alfredo, Vodka, Pesto, Arrabbiata, etc.

Vegetables, etc.: Spinach, Mushrooms, Sundried Tomatoes, Olives, Capers, Zucchini, Roasted Peppers, Onions, Peas, etc.

Cheeses: Mozzarella, Parmigiano-Reggiano, Pecorina Romano, Asiago, Gorgonzolla, Ricotta, etc.

You can also bring other ingredients, such as various spices or nuts (perhaps to add to the pesto sauce). Regardless of what you and your guests bring to your create your own pasta party, this dinner party is sure to be fun for everyone!

    My friends and I love to have pasta parties. We haven't done one in such a large proportion, but it's a favorite pasttime.
