How to Create Your Own Photo Pillow

Jasmine Starr

A photo memory pillow effectively puts in persona and life to your couch or bed. By making a photo memory pillow, you can renew any of your old pillows or you can make a new pillow more vigorous and dynamic. You can use knotted fleece pillows or woven bands for the purpose if you wish. You can choose the picture which would be perfect for you to add to your pillow and you might use the pillow yourself or give it as a present to someone special.

Instructions

  1. Upload your desired picture from your camera or other device onto your personal computer. Use a sheet of fusible cotton transfer paper to get the print of the photo via inkjet printer. Trim the photo around the outline. You can find the directions to use the fusible cotton transfer paper on the packaging of the paper.
  2. Iron the printed photo with the photo side facing upward. Again, the heat measure of the iron should be according to the directions mentioned on the package of the paper. Place the photo on the fabric as you wish to fix the photo and iron again.
  3. With the sides facing each other that would be outside of the pillow, place both the fabrics on a leveled surface. In order to clutch both the fabrics together, use straight pins and put in the pins with the 1 inch inseam on the four corners. If there is any surplus fabric, trim it down so that all the boundaries are equivalent.
  4. You would need a needle and some thread to sew the edges of the seam with Ã'½ inch inseam about three sides of the pillow. On the fourth side, you can sew but leave sufficient opening for padding the pillow. Now flip the pillow to make the pictured side outside.
  5. Now fill the pillow with feathers or cotton. Make sure that you fill properly with all the four corners as well. When done, sew the space which was left previously. If there are any pieces of feathers or cotton visible, trim those as well.

These pillows are also great to keep the memory of someone who has passed on. They make beautiful memories and is a great way to keep the person's memory alive.
