How Do I Create My Own Website?

Creating a Site, and Doing it for Hardly Anything is Not as Hard as You May Think

If you know nothing about having your own web site, and are wanting to make it yourself, here are the current methods of making that question; "How do I create my own website ? " into an answer that simplifies everything.

Do you want to make your own site from scratch ? It may seem hard to think of how you could do it if you have no experience in creating your own web site. But, look a little deeper online and there are many options. It can even be a free one. If you have no experience with hyper text markup language or HTML, you will want to go with a software such as dreamweaver or Microsoft frontpage to make it easier. These can take information and images and create a web page, one page at a time. Geocities .com or Angelfire.com will allow you to post your own pages for free. These types of sites are not good for the viewer of your pages because of the intrusive advertising, but nevertheless are completely free for you to put up your pages. If you want to sell products though, the geocities method will not be a good option. If you just want a cheap looking place to express yourself with something you created, geocities or angelfire is for you.

Blogs are a valid option to "create my own web site". Blogs are also free at blogspot .com . As above you will not need to know HTML, they use something called "templates" . Like the geocities option, it is not officially yours. Someone can come along and see your blog and not like it, report you, and you may get deleted. Also google, who owns blogspot, could delete the site just because they do not like it. Bummer. Blogs are for better used for things like news or daily commentaries, or a way to keep in touch with friends. The pages of your created blog can be customized, but please remember, they are not "my own web site".

The greatest way I know how to create your own web site is to do it the regular way. Learn a little of that HTML or take the HTML editors I mentioned above ( dreamweaver or frontpage ) and start building your own site. Paying is better than free when it comes to having your own web site. Search engines like to go for regular web sites, not blogs or places like geocities. Buy a domain name, sign up with a good web hosting company, and have at it. Become your own webmaster, especially if you are one who believes " If you want it done right, you have to do it yourself." .

An easy way to create it, without the HTML editors is to use that thing I mentioned above called a "template" If you have ever visited templatemonster .com, you know what this is. Its a web page you can copy over and over to make your own web site. It has generic styled graphics, so all you do is install the text. Its simple, and search engines also like them. You can provide a good first online impression with your own site using a good template.

If you happen to be one of the lucky ones, and know a friend who makes web sites, ask them. The worst they can say is no. But, you could possibly get it for free, if they really like creating web sites. It is worth a shot.

If all of the above is not good enough, there are actually webmasters who will create your web site for free simply for the cost of web hosting. If you find someone like this, you better hold on to them ! They can create professional pages, and all you pay for is the space to put them on. They will not give you a thousand page site, but they know what to offer to please most people. If you want, do a yahoo or google search for "we give away free web sites" or "we make free web pages". Do not forget the quotation marks or you will be lookng through millions of results.

Good luck on your quest to create your own web site !
