Do you want to create your own YouTube channel so you can upload your own videos? No problem, I will walk you through the steps of creating your own channel on YouTube so you can begin adding your own videos. By having your own channel on YouTube, you can easily show your family and friends your videos. You can even make slideshows with your photos and upload them to your channel for your family and friends to see. Before we get started with creating your new channel, you will need to have a video ready for uploading to YouTube. If you don't yet have your video, you will need to go ahead and do that before moving on so you don't get lost.
Making Your Account
After making your video, your next step will be to make your account on YouTube. Go to the YouTube home page and click the Sign Up link in the top, right corner of the page. The next page that loads will be the page where you can enter your information. Make sure that you type the correct email in the email field because you will have to confirm it in order to activate your account. Also, whatever you use as your username will be your channel's name, so choose this one wisely. It will also be in the URL of your channel.
When you have entered your information, click the button at the bottom to sign up. Wait about five minutes or so and go to your email to get the confirmation email. In that email will be a link you will need to click to confirm. The page will open in a new tab. Go to the new tab and click the Login link in the top, right corner. When the username and password field loads, type in the information you put in while signing up. Then login to your YouTube account.
Making Your Channel
Now you are ready to make your channel in YouTube. At the top if the YouTube page you are on, find the Upload button and click it. Then proceed with uploading your video. You will be asked to select the video from your computer that you want to upload. Then you will be asked to give it a caption and keywords. When you are finished with that and it has uploaded, click Save.
You may be redirected to your channel from there, but to get to it any other time or to copy the URL to send to friends and family, follow these steps. At the top of any YouTube page, you will see your username with an arrow beside it. Click the arrow beside it and you will see a menu drop down. In that menu, find the My Channel link and click it. That will take you to your channel and you can copy the URL from that page to send to your family and friends. Any time you upload videos, they will be placed in this channel.
