How to Create a Printable Digital Photo Calendar

Ron Noble
There are many freeware applications on the internet to create calendars from photographs and they all have their pros and cons once you get to know them. The specific software i use though is Photo Print Calendar .

To get started you, of course, need a photo for the calendar month you plan on printing. Now open up Photo Print Calendar and leave the Page tab settings to their defaults unless you need to select a certain printer or want to change the location of the photo or change the background color.

Now under the picture tab click Select a Picture and navigate to where you saved your image. You'll be able to see a preview of the picture in the selection dialog if you single click on it to make sure you have the right file. Once you are sure you do then just click open and the image should appear with the full calendar preview where the program's default image was. From there you can adjust brightness and contrast along with the rotation and cropping of the photo you chose.

Now under the Date tab you choose nothing other than the month you want to print. On this tab you can also click a date of importance so it is colored red instead of blue. This is a very useful feature that could allow you to keep track of birthdays, appointments and various other important dates.

Within the Font tab there are even more customization settings. You can choose the fonts separately for Year and Month, Day of the Week and Date. Under the Date section of this tab you can set the color of the important days. I personally keep it at the default since it's quite noticeable and the color transfers well to a print. You can also turn on bold and italics if you choose to.

Now the last part is to save your settings so you don't lose them. It's better to save the settings so you don't have to go through changing them all over again so you can find and easily reprint the calendar page if you need to after closing and re-opening the program. Now click preview and if you like the look of the calendar page then click print. It's that easy to create.
