How to Create a Slideshow on Yahoo! Contributor Network (YCN)

Using AC's Photo Upload Tool to Create a Slideshow

Y! Lyn

Have a great photo collection you want to show off? Perhaps you just took a fun vacation or did a project you captured with images. Yahoo Contributor Network (YCN) makes it easy to share slideshows with subscribers, followers, and possibly others who may be interested as well. The unique photo upload tool and image library make it easier than ever. Here's how you can create a slideshow on YCN using the photo upload tool.

Getting Started

The first step, like with any other YCN submission, is to begin the publishing process. From the 'account' or content tab, select the 'slideshow' button. You will then be taken to the slideshow template, where you can upload images. First, fill in the title, select the categories, and fill in the search tags. Click 'save and next' to start uploading images.

Adding Photos

The next phase of slideshow submission is adding photos. The left-hand side will display photos you have already used on YCN or added to your image gallery via the YCN photo upload tool. Drag and drop the desired images onto the right side in the desired order. You also can upload new photos for the slideshow by clicking browse. Use all new photos, all existing photos, or a combination.

If the images you wish to add from your existing YCN image library are lower down on the left hand side, you may need to drag them up further before dragging and dropping them onto the right hand side. Once you have chosen all your images, you can reorder them if need be by dragging and dropping. Click 'save and next' when your images are displayed in the order you need on the right.

Titles and Descriptions

The next step is to add titles and descriptions to each image. If your slideshow is about a craft or project, you can use the description area to explain the steps in the instructions. Once you have done this with all your photos, click save and next to preview the slideshow.

Licensing Options

You will then be asked to choose licensing options. Slideshows are currently available only under the display only option right now. Therefore, that will be checked off for you by default.

Publishing Your Slideshow

The remaining options are to publish or to make changes. Click 'make changes now' if you need to make any changes. Once you are satisfied, click 'publish' to share your slideshow on Yahoo! Contributor Network.

Thanks for taking the time to write this article. Very clear instructions. I was anxious to create my first slideshow; however, after dropping images into slideshow column and putting in titles, etc., the preview does not show any pictures, just a left and right arrow, with nothing in between. Any idea of what the problem could be?
