But the actual truth is that many girls are afraid of makeup. If you are not one of these girls you are probably wondering why. This is because many girls and women have no idea how to apply makeup.
I have made it my goal to bring these women out of the shell and get them makeup friendly. In my opinion, makeup should be a joy to use and not a bother. You should be able to mix it up with your makeup whenever you want without worrying about a fake appearance.
Today I'm going to give you step by step instructions on how to apply a "Smokey Eye" look. This is a classic look and can be made dark, bright, neutral, and so on.
Step 1 - First you need to pick your look out. Do you want a bright look? Or may be you want more of a natural color. You can buy pre-color coordinated colors. This should help you out a lot. The top thing to know is you will need three different shades of eye color. You will need the highlight shade (this will be your lightest shade.) You will need the contour shade (this will be in the middle of your darkest shade and highlight shade.) And now you will need your darkest shade (obviously this will be the darkest.) Make sure all your colors go well with one another.
Step 2 - Now you need to clean your eyes really good. Get a gentle makeup remover and wash your entire face, but make sure your eyes are washed very well! You may say that you do not need to wash your eyes because they are already clean, but do it anyway. It is better to be safe than sorry.
Step 3 - Get a face moisturizer that suits your skin type and apply it all over your face. Make sure your eyes also get moisturizer, but do not get the lotion in your eyes! Let the moisturizer sit and "soak in" for about 5 minutes before you move onto step 4.
Step 4 - Now get your concealer and apply it to the lid of your eye, all over. Allow the concealer to sit for about 2 minutes and then apply a loose powder to your lid, over the concealer. This will help your eye shadow colors to set and stay for many hours.
Step 5 - Take your highlighting color and apply it to your brow bone but make sure not to get it on your brow. Now lightly apply a little of your highlight color in the corner of your eye closest to your nose. Apply a light sweep of color under your bottom eyelashes.
Step 6 - Now it is time for your contour color. You are going to cover your whole lid in this color. Take this color all the way up to your brow (do not go onto the brow) but do not cover your brow bone coloring. Make sure you are not being too harsh with your coloring; nice light sweeps.
Step 7 - Okay, now that we have those steps out of the way, you are going to need your darkest color. This color will go all over your lid, but stay under the crease. It will cover up your contour color, but do not worry about this. You need these two colors to mix with each other. When you apply your darkest color to the lid, you are going to make a light sweep a little above the lid crease and by the outer corner of your eye. Make a light sweep under your bottom eyelashes for a full dramatic color.
Step 8 - Take your blending brush and lightly blend these colors together.
Step 9 - Now just apply your eye liner and mascara as you would.
Now you know how to create a Smokey Eye look!
