You will first need some makeup tools:
Concealer
Eye shadow applicator blending brush
Eye pencil
Mascara
In addition to the items listed above, you will also need a highlighter shadow. A few highlighter shadow colors that you can choose from are pale pink, banana, or toast. You will also need a darker eye shadow in cocoa, slate, or sable. A good eye pencil that you can use with darker complexions is charcoal or mahogany. Mascara in the color black will finish and set your smoky eye look.
First, you should pat and blend a yellow concealer around your eye area. Blend it from the top of your lid to under your eye from corner to corner. Do this on both eyes. Then with your eye shadow applicator blending brush, take a small amount of your highlighter shadow, apply it to the entire top lid of your eyes and all the way up to your brows. After completing these steps, take the darker shade of shadow, which is in the color cocoa, slate, or sable, and apply the color on the very top of your lid close to your lashes and blend up ever so slightly. You should not bring the dark color all the way up to your eyebrows; instead keep the color very close to your eyelashes. Then with the tip of the applicator brush, take more of the same color and apply it directly under the eye, close to the eyelashes on the lower part of your eye from corner to corner. If the color looks too intense and harsh, just take the applicator brush and blend ever so slightly.
Now with your eye shadow in place, take your eye pencil in the color of charcoal or mahogany and draw a line completely around each eye, making sure that the line is very close to your eyelashes. You should line the inside and the outside of your eye. If you are using a kohl eye pencil you can draw a line on the inside rim of your eyes and it is safe, because kohl eye pencils will not irritate your eyes. Take the eye shadow applicator brush and blend the eye pencil line slightly so that it will not look too harsh.
The last step in your smoky eye look is mascara. Black mascara works the best when you want to create a smoky eye look. Apply black mascara on the top and lower lashes of each eye. Three coats of mascara will work just fine.
That's it. You are done. You now have created a beautiful, smoky eye look that will make your eyes stand out and look absolutely gorgeous!
