How to Create a Sophisticated Daytime Make Up Look

A sophisticated make up look is not about quantity, it's about quality, you need to apply minimum make up, yet create maximum effect.
  1. Foundation.

Pick a colour matching or mineral foundation and apply only where necessary, for example, if you have uneven skin on your nose, only apply it there. Though if you feel you need to apply it all over, then do so. Make sure you blend thoroughly, this is the key to creating a polished look with foundation.

  1. Highlighter.

Apply a small amount of cream highlighter to the top of your cheekbones, jaw line and across the top of your browbone, blend thoroughly, this will really emphasise and highlight your bone structure.

  1. Eyes

The key is to accentuate your eyes, but not over emphasise them, pick eyeshadow colours that compliment your eye colour (but nothing too bright)

Start with a neutral base blended all the way up to the brow bone, then add another subtle colour and blend to the top of the eyelid

  1. Lips.

Firstly create a smooth base by applying plenty of petroleum jelly to your lips and rubbing in for a few minutes, then gently exfoliate in small circles using a warm, soft towel or an old soft toothbrush.

Then choose a lip liner the same colour as your lips and out line them slowly and carefully, apply your lipstick with a small brush and blend up to the lip line, blot with a tissue then re apply. Finish with a clear sealant.

  1. Blusher vs. Bronzer

Whether you opt for blusher or bronzer will be a personal preference, but if you apply bronzer, apply it only to the places where the sun would naturally catch your face, this is the brow bone, the most prominent part of your nose and the top of your cheeks. Use a large brush and blend thoroughly in small circles.

If you are applying blusher, apply to the fleshy round part of your cheeks and blend in small circles.
