How to Create a Thought Bubble Costume

Chad R. Herman
When you're looking for neat and interesting costumes, you have to look into the weird and the odd. The most interesting costumes come from places you don't expect. People aren't going to expect someone to dress as a sewer, or a pipe, or a thought bubble. Yes, a thought bubble. When animals speak or when people think of something they have a "thought bubble" above their heads. So how would you go making the thought bubble creating a thought bubble costume?

You're going to need a lot of white clothing, and make sure it's all the same white. If you have to wash everything in good raw bleach to get all of the clothes looking the same type of white. You're going to need a white turtle neck with long sleeves, a white pair of pants, no seams showing, white gloves white shoes, white paint, a meter stick, and a large piece foo white foam. First cut a piece of foam that rounds off your shoulders.

Measure the distance from your shoulder to top of your head. Measure the distance from your neck to the end of your shoulder. Draw these two distances at right angles to each other. Draw an arc that connects them. Do the same drawing with the other side. When you put these on your shoulders, they should round out a complete half circle with your head. Cut out two strips of foam that are about a foot long. These will connect these two pieces, front and back, to your body and stabilize them. It will resemble a piece of armor for thew sides of your head, or maybe a cushion for the sides of your head.

Cut out three circles descending in size out of the piece of white foam. Paint the meter stick black. You can use clothing, or white paint to cover your entire body in white. The most important thing is that everything on you is white. Another option is a full and complete leotard that is complete white, and your skin doesn't show through. Now it's time to get dressed.

Completely cover yourself in white in whatever way you want. Makes sure there is nothing but white showing, very important. Place the meter stick down the back of your shirt, and tuck it in waste band. There should be a few feet still sticking out. Glue the three circles ascending up the visible meter stick.Place the two pieces of foam on your shoulders and attach them together. Now you are a thought bubble. You could even jokingly say you are God's thought bubble. To add to this costume, write things laterally down yourself.
