How to Create Wider, Brighter Eyes

Tips to Make Your Eyes Pop

Though it's easy to get into the habit of using your favorite eye makeup day in and out; it doesn't always give your eyes the bright pop you may have the intentions of creating. Wearing your favorite shades for work and daily activities creates a basis for your makeup routine but every now and then break out of your mold by mixing up your eye makeup. There are many products and items available to create wider or brighter eyes.

Liquid Eyeliner

Eyeliners come in pencil and liquid forms to help enhance the bold look of your eyes. If you ordinarily wear pencil eyeliner try a dark brown or black liquid liner for a change. Use a liner that has an angled brush because it allows you to create thin narrow lines or thick bold lines to accentuate the eyes. Start at the inside corners of the top lid and follow the eyelid in a smooth motion. After lining eyes use a blow dryer on a cool setting to help it dry faster. This will decrease smearing or smudging the liquid liner.

Bold Color

Neutral shades in cocoa and beige are found in nearly every makeup palette but sometimes bright colorful makeup is the necessary change to make your eyes stand out. If you're not comfortable with Kim Kardashian's famous green and gold colors then choose something that's subtle but still colorful. Colors such as dark plum for brown eyes or smokey gray or kohl for blue eyes completely change their appearance. These shades will not only make eyes stand out but are great shades to wear for evenings out on the town.

FalseLashes

Long luscious lashes really make the eyes pop but if your lashes are naturally thin and short this poses a problem. False lashes are a quick remedy for barely-there lashes but may seem to be too "fake" for your look. A simple solution to this problem is using the bottom portion of the false eye lashes for the tops of your eye lid instead. The bottom lashes are shorter and not quite as thick which creates a more natural look when combined with your top lashes. To make sure your lashes stay in place remember to add extra glue in the corners of the eyes; since this is the area that lashes will lift away from first and to carry extra glue with you.

Combinations

Although liquid liner, bold color and falsies can be worn individually; these items "open" the eyes and create an alluring look and style when worn together. The liquid liner conceals the base of the false eyelashes and will also stand out against that back drop of bold eyeshadow colors.
