Step one, make a magic circle.
Step two. Chain 4 from the circle. Double crochet one into the magic circle.
Step three,Chain 2, double crochet one into the magic circle.
Step three Repeat until you have 5 loops. Close with a slip stitch into the third chain on the first first loop.

These create the bases for the petals.

To make each petal.

Step one. Half double crochet one.
Step two, double crochet twice.
Step three. Half double crochet one
Slip stitch into the next petal.
Repeat until you have filled all the petals.

I like to make my flowers with more then one row of petals. It makes them fluffier and more fun.

To make a second row. I change colors.
Turn the flower over to the wrong side.
Step one. Chain one around the first double crochet of the flower.
Step two. Chain 6.
Step Three. Chain one around the second double crochet of the flower.
Step Four. Continue step two and three around.

Now to make the petals of the second row.
While still attached to the chains of row two. Chain two.
Turn the flower over to the right side, pull down the petals of row one to get a clear view.
In the first loop. Half double crochet one.
Step two. Double crochet 4.
Step Three, Half Double crochet one.
Step four. Slip stitch into the next loop.
Step 5. Continue steps two through four around.

If you wish you can make a third row. I change colors for a third row, or go back to the first row.
Turn the flower over again and chain around the first double crochet same as you did to make the foundation row for the second row.
Step two. Chain 8.
Step Three, single crochet around the second double crochet.
Step four, Repeat steps two and three around.

Now turn the flower back over.
Insert the hook in the first loop. Chain two.
Step two. Half double crochet 1.
Step three. Double Crochet 5
Step four, Half double crochet 1
step five. Slip stitch into the next loop.
Step six. Repeat steps two through five to finish the flower.

Tie off and weave in your tails and viola you have a flower. Simple and easy. It becomes easier each time you make a flower.
