How to Cure A Urinary Tract Infection

Are you having pain in your urinary tract? Does it burn or hurt a great deal when you urinate and sometimes when you have bowel movement? You probably have a urinary tract infection. Here are some ways to get rid of it quickly.

What is Urinary Tract Infection? Urinary tract infection, or UTI for short, occurs when bacteria from the digestive tract or from the anus attach to the opening of the urethra and reproduce. The infection can spread to the bladder and create a bladder infection, and if left untreated, can eventually travel to the kidneys and create a kidney infection. If you have UTI, then you are most likely in dread of going to the bathroom, for the burning and contractions involved with urinating can be extremely painful.

Heavy hydration. The number one rule of cleaning UTI out of your system and immediately decreasing the pain is drinking large amounts of water and juice. Avoid more toxic liquids, such as coffee or soft drinks. At first, you may be against this idea, since it would bring on more urination, but allowing the tissues to remain dry and not flushed out can not only spread the infection but increase the pain. Deal with the small amount of pain now, so that you do not have to deal with the large amount of pain later.

Keeping clean. Many people get infection from unsanitary bathroom and sexual practices. Wiping from back to front, rather than from front to back can cause a UTI. Anal sex or heavy sexual activity without proper cleaning before and afterward can easily cause a UTI for both men and women. It is important to be sanitary and wash both before and after sexual practices and between sexual activity and urination or bowel movement.

Probiotics. While busily flushing your body with fluids to help decrease pain and further infection, consider the healthy benefits from taking probiotics, such as liquid Acidophilus and yogurt. This encourages and breeds healthy bacteria which fight off harmful bacteria. As long as fluids will be traveling out of your system, you might as well make them healthy, immune-building fluids.

Yes, a urinary tract infection is extremely painful and can be dangerous in both adults and children. Pregnant women are most at risk for the UTI developing into a kidney infection and many gynecologists recommend occasional urine testing throughout pregnancy. Remember, drinking lots of fluids is the fastest way to decrease your pain.
