As a former anxiety sufferer myself, I can tell you honestly that they are quite full of it.
Anxiety for most people is caused by too much stimulation. While people love to blame their anxiety on external factors, such as the almighty "stress," fact is that these stimulants are on the inside. They're inside because you put them there.
I cured my anxiety problem within about a month. I started in May 2003 by making some simple changes to my diet. I'll go ahead and say that I began using the Atkins approach.
Now before you say, "Oh that's dangerous. My doctor told me Atkins is unhealthy," consider this. Nobody ever got rid of anxiety by following the so-called "healthy" eating approach which includes inhuman amounts of starch, grains, and other forms of sugar.
I, on the other hand, had my anxiety beat down to a pulp within weeks of following the Atkins nutritional approach. So am I saying you have to do Atkins to cure your anxiety?
No.
There are a few starter steps you can take, just to prove to yourself that you can beat anxiety without drugs or therapy. Once you see how much these help, you'll be motivated to go the extra mile and really kick anxiety out of your life for good.
First, clean out your fridge and pantry, throwing out any soft drinks (even diet), potato chips, candy, cookies, sugary cereal, pasta, bread, and anything with added sugar. Look at ingredient labels and toss anything with monosodium glutamate (MSG), fructose, sucrose, or anything that ends in "-ose."
Second, throttle your caffeine intake to about half. Don't go cold turkey, just cut back by about half to begin with.
Now, if either one of those steps sound impossibly drastic to you, then it's a sure sign that you are addicted. Just like the crack addict, the tobacco addict, or the alcoholic, you are addicted to your stimulants.
Here's how you break your addiction: Throw out all that crap anyway. Just do it. And don't buy more.
You'll be free in a matter of days.
And you'll feel much better too.
