How to Customize Your MySpace 2.0 Profile

Becky Fuentes
Here's everything you need to know about how to customize your MySpace 2.0 profile. First thing, sign into your MySpace account. Next, go to Profile and select Customize Profile.

Select Theme

You can choose from 100+ MySpace 2.0 profiles. MySpace has a large selection of MySpace 2.0 themes you can use including movie MySpace layouts (Transporter, The Spirit), girly MySpace layouts (Cherry, Flowery), artsy MySpace layouts (Bird's Nest, Urban) and graphic MySpace layouts (Gothic, Graffiti, Graphic).

To preview the MySpace 2.0 profile simply click on the MySpace layout. Once you're satisfied with your MySpace layout, click on Publish.

Change Width and Layout

Change the width and layout of your MySpace profile to suit your tastes. You can choose from a 2-column MySpace layout, 3-column MySpace layout or a single column MySpace layout, among others.

For width of your MySpace 2.0 profile choose from 750px (skinny profile), 960px (standard profile) or 100% which stretches your MySpace profile to the max.

When you're satisfied with the width and layout of your MySpace 2.0 profile, click on Publish.

Advanced Edit

In advanced edit, you can change the color, borders, links, text and padding of the various modules in your MySpace 2.0 profile. Be careful with messing around too much with these though, because you could find your MySpace 2.0 profile turn into a big mess.

CSS

If you're going to use a MySpace 2.0 layout that's not already loaded into MySpace, then you'll need to enter it here in the CSS section. Also, be sure that under themes you have selected No Theme.

Modules

MySpace 2.0 has 14 different modules.

Video Slider

You can choose to display as many of these MySpace modules as you want. Simply click on the module to add and click again to remove.

Privacy Settings

One of the greatest things about MySpace 2.0 profiles is that you can set privacy settings for each individual module. No more having to find an HTML code that will hide it for you.

To change the privacy settings on any MySpace module simply roll your mouse over the heading of the particular MySpace module that you want to update. You should see a padlock icon, this is the Privacy settings. Click on it and set your privacy settings to Everyone, Friends Only, Friends in Certain Categories Only or Just Me. You can set individual privacy settings per module or set all modules to the same privacy setting.
