With the obesity rate rapidly rising in the United States, it's no wonder that hundreds and thousand's of people are constantly looking for a way to lose weight or to find the next diet craze. Unfortunately, there is no miracle drug or diet that will magically drop those unwanted pounds. There are only two methods that will work and have worked since the beginning of time. These two methods are simple, eat healthy and exercise. Of course these two easy methods are not hard by all means but they do require a lot of work and discipline. However, people should know that you don't have to go on a crash diet tomorrow. You can easily wing yourself off of your bad eating habits and gradually start eating healthier without feeling like you are starving yourself.

First of all you need to take a look at what you eating on a daily basis and go from there. Are you getting a drink from Starbucks every morning? Are you eating out for lunch everyday and are you eating fast food a lot? How many soda's are you drinking a day, are you guilty of having an after dinner snack or a midnight snack? If you answered yes to any of these don't worry you are not alone. All you have to do is make a few adjustments to your daily diet and you will most definitely start to see some unwanted pounds come right off.

First and foremost you need to stop going on your daily Starbuck's run. Did you know that a typical drink from Starbuck's has a whopping 600 calories in it? Well if you add whip cream and all the other extras that add even more unnecessary calories. So try to limit those to maybe twice a week and start making yourself your own coffee from home. If you are eating out everyday for lunch you simply need to put this to a stop. Not only are you wasting money, you are more than likely eating something that contains the whole calorie amount you are suppose to have in one day. Simply start bringing your lunch to work.

Try getting a Lean Cuisine and taking it for lunch and pair it with some vegetables like carrots and celery. Or bring an apple or orange. Or bring a turkey sandwich with mustard on light bread. Use light bread opposed to regular bread. Regular bread can have anywhere to 60 calories to 80 calories per slice. With light bread you get 40 calories per slice. That's saves you a 40 to 80 calories in your sandwich. Also by omitting mayonnaise from your sandwich and substituting mustard saves you a ton of calories since mustard is calorie free. Also if you are drinking three to five sodas a day you need to try and cut those down if not eliminate them all together. Soda has a whopping 160 calories or more per can. If you have three to five sodas a day that's an extra 480 to 800 calories a day that are unnecessary. Instead of drinking a soda get flavored water or Crystal Light. If you are guilty of eating out every night you simply need to put a stop to that. You are not only spending more money than you would if you ate from home but you are putting way too many calories in your mouth.

Sit down and make a grocery list and plan your meals for the week. Also be sure to stay away from fried and greasy meals and try not to cook with a ton of butter. Lastly, you need to be strong and try not to eat anything after 6:00pm.If you have got to have something have a piece of fruit or some veggies.

If you follow these simply tips then you will most certainly start seeing those unwanted pounds falling off in no time. Please note that if you exercise while following these suggestions you will see the weight fall off even faster. Furthermore, if you want the weight to stay off you need to make a lifestyle change. If you don't then the weight will start to pile right back on. Also keep in mind that it is ok to splurge on a Starbuck's drink or go out to eat or have some ice cream after dinner, just as long as it is not on a regular basis. The best rule of thumb to follow when it comes to those fatty, greasy, fried foods we all love is moderation.
