How to Make Cute Hair Bows

Seems like everywhere you turn you see the cutest hair bows for little girls! They are extremely popular right now and what is even neater is that the majority you probably see are homemade. Bow making has proven to be a great opportunity for stay at mom's to make a few extra bucks, plus it's fun! Bow making may look complicated but it's really not. This article will give you step by step instructions on how you can make your own beautiful bows, and other beautiful hair accessories.

Step One: You probably already know how to tie a bow. This is the first step in making hair bows. If you don't think you are good at it then just practice, practice, practice. If you are not quite sure how to make a bow here is a simple way to do it. Make two loops and take one loop and cross over the other loop. Pull the loop on top in the hole. Straighten and even out the ends. That is really all there is to making a regular bow. Of course, there are several other type bows you can make, but this is just the basic run of the mill bow.

Step Two: Hot glue the bow onto your favorite head band or hair clip and let it sit until completely dry.

That is basically all there is to it! Other fun things you can do is to hot glue a colored daisy, or the flower of your choice, to the center of the bow. You can also hot glue your bow to a headband, or even hot glue the flower to a hair clip or headband. The ideas here are really endless!

You can use more than one fabric to match certain outfits or even school colors. When you are in a hurry you can even just use the ribbon and make a headband bow. Here is how you can do this, it is very simple!

Step One: Lay the ribbon at the bottom of your hair and bring the ends to the top of your head. Tie a knot and then make the basic bow that was mentioned earlier. You can pull on the loops to make the ribbon tails longer or shorter. You can keep the bow in the center off to the center for a different look.

Bow making is very fun and trendy right now. With money being tight you can start making your own hair bows and other hair accessories and have fun doing it! You may even decide to start selling your creations!
