How to Use the Deagle in Counter-Strike

Counter Strike Weapon Tutorial

Dante Scott
Seeing how there are still so many new players jumping into counter-strike these days I thought I would make a series of tutorials for certain weapons. The weapons that get the most use would be the ones that I am going to concentrate on.

First up on the list is the Deagle, or in the real world the Desert Eagle .50 caliber pistol. That is right it shoots a .50 caliber size bullet. For someone who has never shot one in real life that is a very large bullet with tremendous knock down power.

So let's drop that down into the counter-strike video game, more specifically the 1.6 version of the game that has been out since May of 1999. In the game the Deagle gets a 7 round magazine and you can carry 5 of those which give you a total of 35 shots for each game round. If you purchase all it will let you buy. The bad part about a 7 round magazine is if you end up facing more than 1 opponent at the same time. So you better make each of your shots count in the firefight. I usually pick the closest opponent to pick off first then duck for cover to get a reload and then pop out for the second. I usually plan on 1 kill in my mind then if I get more it is like a good bonus to me.

As for aiming I bet you have heard hundreds of ways to aim in counter-strike. Here is the trick that I learned after playing the game for the last 10 years. If you set the crosshairs for the smallest setting in the game you will have a perfect point to aim at when shooting. The top tip of the bottom most vertical line is the place where the bullet will go when you fire a shot. But hold on there is a backside to the trick as well. It will go there if you are stopped completely and the crosshairs have stopped their recoil adjustment.

In other words if you are mid strafe and about to shoot the Deagle you need to stop and let the crosshairs stabilize back to center then you can shoot at the top of the bottom vertical line. Boom, welcome to head shot city! You think that is a lot to do to take a shot, but as you practice it more you will quit thinking about it and just shoot like a pro. Good luck I will see you in the game!
