How to Deal with a Bad Haircut

BS
Bad hair days are one thing, but bad haircuts are a whole other mess. A bad hair day can be dealt with fairly easily, but a bad haircut is something you're stuck with for at least a little while. Many people have suffered a bad haircut at least once in their life, whether it was because they chose the wrong style, or their hair dresser did a very poor job. Throwing on a hat every day to cover up a bad haircut is usually not option for most people who have work or school, so people are forced to deal with their bad hair cuts and try to make the best out of a bad situation. If you happen to be the victim of a bad haircut, here's some tips for how to deal:

Don't freak out. A lot of people have a tendency to stress once they discover that their haircut has turned out to be a disaster, but fight the urge! Remember that your hair grows back, some faster than others, but it always comes back.

Go to a different hairdresser right away. If the hairdresser was the cause of your bad haircut, find someone who may be able to fix it. There is a chance that there is not anything that will be able to fix your haircut, but it's always worth a try. A different hairdresser may be able to give you a different haircut, if you're willing to cut more of your hair off, or at least use some of their hairdresser tricks to make your bad haircut not so terrible.

Try out different styles. You may have chosen your haircut because you wanted to wear your hair a specific way, if you find yourself with a horrible haircut, try to style it in different ways. You could try curling it, straightening it, or any other idea that comes to mind. If you find a style that suits your haircut, you may find that you actually don't mind your haircut. If you have no ideas for styling your bad haircut, try looking in magazines, or the Internet.

Accessorize! Headbands, clips, bobby pins, and many others can help alter the way your hair looks. Accessories are your best bet for hiding a bad haircut. This goes along with trying out different styles with your haircut, accessories will help you find a style that works. If you try out different hair accessories and styles and find that none of them are working for you, don't get frustrated (even if you're extremely tempted), instead, take a break and relax and try out new things later.

If all else fails, try hair extensions. If you find that your haircut is so horrendous that nothing can fix it, and you don't want to wait for your hair to grow back, hair extensions will save you. These can vary in price from affordable to very pricey depending on the quality, so decide how much money you want to spend before. If you are planning on doing the hair extensions yourself, be sure that you that you get quality materials. If you have these professionally done, don't go to the same hairdresser that gave you the bad haircut and bring your wallet.

I just let it grow out and then get a better hair cut, my hair never defined me.

I've had some pretty awful haircuts. I'm sporting one now. Hair seems to take forever to grow when you have a bad hair cut rather than when you get a great one.

Thankfully, haven't had bad haircuts to deal with, but had the permanent from hell once.
