How to Deal with College Life

Tips to Keep from Getting to Stressed

a
For many people of all age's right after high school they go on to higher their education. Many people go in to the army or the police academy some don't even go to college at all. Some would rather just work at the job they had in high school. But for those who go onto higher their education they attend a college. Some people attend community colleges while others go on to University's. What ever colleges you choose they all have one thing in common the stress that comes with college.

In college it is up to you to get to class on time along with getting your homework in on time. Regardless of what time you may have gotten home the night before from partying or working. You should also try to attend even if you don't feel like it and all you want to do is lay around your house or dorm room and sleep. One thing is for sure though you are suppose to attend classes but unlike high school college teachers don't care if you're there or not because you are already paid for your college classes.

In college it is all up to you to attend classes even if it means coming in at the very last second before it starts because you just got off of work. You are adult and with becoming an adult you have adult responsibilities. Dealing with life in college is one of those responsibilities you get when you become a college student.

There are many ways to deal with the stress that comes with the college life. First way to deal with the stress in college is not to loose focus on your classes. This may become hard especially when you have extra curricular activities that you are involved in such as being in a sorority or a fraternity or if you have a job. It is also easy to loose focus on your college classes when you have a family or just had a kid that you have to take care of which many college students do. It is very important that no matter what you do and how much you just want to sit there and relax and not study to remember that you are is paying for your college. It's not high school any more where the classes are free. Plus you have to remember that this is your future and missing classes can postpone your future career. In college the more that you lose focus on your classes and slack off the longer it will take for you to complete the courses which allow you to become the person you want to be.

While dealing with life in college you should study a lot. Studying is stressful but the more you study the more you remember and the more likely you are to pass your test. Passing your test is very important because it determines if you pass your classes. You should also drink coffee when it comes time to take your finals. You need something that is going to wake you up and keep you focused on your test. chewing gum also helps you concentrate on these test.

One thing that will really help you in dealing with college life is not to get too much in to partying and drinking. Some people while they attend college think "well I'm on my own now I can party as much as I want and I don't have to answer to any body". This is true but, in the end you really do have to answer to somebody. That somebody is your self. If you spend all your time partying and drinking alcohol then when do you have time to study for your test and retain in your memory what you read? You don't so it is very important just like I have said in the previous paragraphs not to loose focus on your school. And also not to drink alcohol and party to much not only can drinking alcohol and partying mess up your schooling but if you do something stupid while drinking and partying it could result in you getting arrested. Getting arrested could mess up your record, possibly get you kicked out depending on what type of school you go to and it could also make dealing with your college life a lot more difficult.

Lastly while dealing with the college life you need to get plenty of sleep. Even if you are not tired you need to get as much sleep as possible. That way when you wake up in the morning you feel happy and you're not dragging your feet trying to get to your class which may cause you to be late. If you are a female you may take pride in your appearance. Looking good may make you feel good therefore you may love to dress up and wear high heels every day with every out fit. That is good but if you attend a university which is possibly Four times the size of a Community College the high heels may make your feet hurt which will cause you to be stressed by the time you get to class. You should try to wear comfortable clothes with some type of flat shoe. As far as clothing you should try and wear comfortable clothing over tight clothing this is especially good if you are at a University and must walk farther than normal to get to classes.

These are just a few things that you can do to make your college life better for you. These things will also help take some of the stress away and help you deal with college life and make your college experience a little bit better for you.

There are a few grammatical errors any college professor would have pointed out, and the author should proofread more carefully before submitting work online, but this really is a good, solid and helpful article giving new students a clear idea of what they can expect on campus. I attend NYU and found myself nodding "yep" to a lot of what was presented here. One more tip I would add:

Your professors are not like your parents or employers. They carry a certain cache of authority. It's best not to fight it but rather go along with it. Defying professors or trying to show off how smart you are or how nobody is your "boss" in a classroom can backfire. The professors are the ultimate authority on a college campus. Don't kiss up to them - they can tell if you try - but be scrupulous in obeying them and doing your very best in front of them.

To cope here at NYU, I am imitating the way Japanese and Japanese-American students behave towards their schoolwork and professors. You'd be su
