Now, I am for equality, For example, I think it's great that people are no longer allowed to be turned down for a job based on sexual orientation, as well as race, marital/family status, or gender. It would be unfair to turn someone away from work just because of social opinion.
However, there is a another right that is coming into play and it doesn't seek my approval. It is gay marriage. Man, this is as hot as a hot button issue as we can get. One of the major reasons this has become so widely opposed is marriage it's self was created in the Bible, for Christians. Now that is not to say millions of unbelievers are not married. But the true benefit and respect from marriage is defined by a Christian marriage.
It is my opinion that the Bible speaks very clearly on homosexuals. The Bible it's self even goes as far as stating that the homosexuals will not inherit the earth. This isn't some writer looking to created hate and discrimination. I am writing this because I want to point out that now, more then ever, our country is facing major changes. It it okay, is it right, is it normal? What can Christians do to hold their ground and yet be obedient to Gods words. You may be surprised at what I have to say.
New Jersey just passed a law that now allows gay couples to for "civil unions". Which gives them many of the rights of marriage without the title. Was this a good move? Honestly speaking, millions of Americans who marry each other, and are not Christian and still receives the same benefits of marriage that those who are Christian do. The problem come in where this isn't good enough. Gay continue to push to have the word "marriage" describe their union. This, in my opinion, is wrong. To this date, only one state (Mass.) allows gay marriage.
This country needs to give compassion to the rights of humans, Christian or not. There are however numerous lines being crossed through the progression of this change.
I do not believe our school systems should be introducing our children to the definition of homosexuals. Especially not before most children understand relationships, at their very core. The schools argument is they are teaching children the different kinds of families that exist today, therefore leading to a easier acceptance of the children of gay couples. Sounds good, but I am not buying it. If my child were in school and that was what was being taught, I would take my child out of that district, and possibly the whole public school system.
Parents, it is our job to be the epic center of our children's morals. We need to be the ones laying the foundation. I am 22 years old, and I didn't even hear about sexual education until I was in fifth grade, and my school separated the boys and girls for one day, to teach boys and girls about puberty. This isn't an "in my day" story from 50 years ago. How could our public school system have changed so fast and so bad. In remembering gay rights, we also have to think of our children and their rights.
If my son ever came home and told me "Bobby has two daddies" I wouldn't flip out or teach discrimination. I would explain that some people choose not to fall in love with people that God tell us to. It doesn't make them a bad person. They can still have a good heart, even though they are not listening to God. The best thing we can do is pray for them, and let Jesus heal them. Remember son, God says it is His job to judge not ours.
Another line that is being crossed is homosexuals in the church. We are clearly denying Gods words on homosexuality. As a matter of fact, when churches allow gays to become members of their congregation, they are rejecting God and his creation at that. You can be gay and be Christian, because God may come into your life at an unexpected time, but it's through his teaching you heal and come to understand His word, His truths. We should not accept people who are in gay relationships as member s to any Christian church, and certainly can not allow them any leadership roles in the church. Satan has an attack plan, and he is trying to bring down the standards of Christians, once that is established Christian will not only live in the world, but become it, which is opposite from Gods word.
Our country may have been built for religious freedom. I am grateful I live in a country where I am not splayed for being Christian. America however is slowly turning into a country separate from biblical teaching. We have to remember, all of us Christians out there on the picket lines, where is our grace, our compassion. Where is the Holy Spirit when we look down on gay people. The Bible clearly states we are to view others as better then ourselves, we should be humble and love and bless our enemies. We need to make a motion that accepts gay people, as people! They need to be treated with love, and kindness.
Have you ever been to the store and saw a very flamboyant young man just blabbering on about some overly "gay" conversation and pointed, laughed, called a friend and told them about it, what about even just rolling your eyes? I can be honest here, I have. However, until now it hasn't hit me that God hates discrimination, He hates gossip, and mockery, yet us Christians cry out "but God hates gays" Well God also hates Hippocrates. Lets not become one.
The best way to deal with the overwhelming flow of gay rights is to pray. Just as I would have told my son. We need to pray for our country. Pray for our marriages and marriages around the world, and pray for a healing over people. We need to ask God to take charge of this country, to appoint leaders who will preserve and not perverse, the ethics in our country. Christians if all your doing is holding up a picket sign and checking it your door, your not following through. We need to be face down on the floor weeping and praying for a restored moral background in our society today. Oh, let me tell you, it is so easy to come to God when we need something, but how hard it is to pray for not one, but millions of people that don't even directly affect us.
Remember Jesus is the Prince Of Peace, treat everyone with equality and pray for their soul!

Post a CommentYou may think you're being creative writer but you're just spewing the same old hate. And your grammar and spelling are very poor. Spend less time judging others and work on improving yourself.
Gays are just people with a inborn trait that the majority of people do not have. Do you think that gay people choose to be something that could cause them to be scorned by society, rejected by their families, deny them rights and subject them to possible violent hate crimes? No. They are people the same as us and i think that you are very biased. I am straight but i think that gays should be treated the same as other people. It's just like the racism towards black people. We are all just people. Thats all it comes down to.
Gay people shouldn't be allowed to be members of churches? So much for the veneer of "Christian" love, I guess. Glad I walked away from organized religion, because any god that would kick people out over their sexual orientation (as opposed to what kind of character they have, which should be the only standard by which anyone - gay or straight - should be judged) is not a god or a religion worth bothering with as far as I'm concerned. Very disappointed in this article.
We brought this topic up in our sunday class, and one lady almost ripped off my husband head...because she stated that they are good people...we know that, Sad thing she doesnt know us and we have people in our family that are gays. My husband was trying to explain but couldnt get in a word in after that ... that they are walking in the wrong path and we are all sinners no matter what... but we need to plant a seed and help them see Jesus...but she wouldnt let him speak, so its even hard to bring this topic up even with the so call Christians. I was floored how quick she defended bad behaviers but would she defend God that way... I thought that in my head... I will just have to pray for her this rest of the week, that God will lay it on her heart to speak to her friends and get them on the correct path....
im with you on this one.
the problem is that most people only know of the Old Testament rules on Homosexuality. (lev 18:22, and Lev 20:13 (i think))
they then point out that most people dont folow the OT rules anymore. They don't understand that the apostles, at the concil of Jerusalem decided that Christians were not BOUND by the OT, however they never told people to just dump the OT, (we still have it in the Bible don't we?) However some rules got special attention...Circomcision was said to be unnecisary, but encouraged, (to many converts, couldn't cut them all) homosexual activity was also brought before the apostles in the New Tesament, it was still condemed.
Your right. It is the school's place to introduce children to homosexuality. Morality is subjective and it is not public education's role to brainwash kids into believe far left politically correct crap. Gay marriage should be kept illegal because society has always been based on the traditional fammily's role as the central subunit of society. You redefine marriage you redefine society.
