A person suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder will have problems with the people in their life. From relationships to family and friends or co workers. People with Borderline Personality Disorder have severe emotional problems with many outburst.
We have problems with making friends and or keeping those friends. We have so many problems with our emotions that we can snap in just a few minutes for no apparent reason uncontrollably and that's what scares people away from us.
People with BPD also have problems with impulses. WE may shop out of control often buying things we never needed or we may indulge in bad behavior such as inappropriate sexual experiences or gambling or drugs or driving to dangerous.
We also suffer from severe anxiety as well as depression. I can still remember having difficulty controlling my temper years ago in my other marriage. It had become very violent and physical. The bad thing is I did not know what was wrong with me years ago I just thought I had a bad temper.
People with Borderline Personality Disorder suffer from many suicidal thoughts as well as feelings of worthlessness and feelings of failure. I was constantly scared of losing my spouse to another woman or that he may be cheating I did not want him to leave me at home alone.
I have found that many of us with Borderline Personality Disorder also have problems holding down jobs. It probably stems from the uncontrollable outburst and not being able to handle our emotions.
The good news is, there is medicine out there that can help someone with their anxiety and their depression. There is also therapy to help you deal with living with a Mental Disorder. For myself I've come to learn that most of the behavior that we exhibit is learned from early childhood.
Childhood trauma can cause BPD. Or another thing that the experts feel that may cause BPD is genetics. If a parent or sibling has it you might get it. Or they also feel if you have a problem in your brain such as the serotonin not working properly.
You can live a healthy long life and have healthy relationships again by seeking treatment for your BPD and not let it get you down. I have often felt it was my identity my label in life but now after years of therapy I think this way, I have Borderline Personality Disorder it does not have me!
