How to Decide If a 2009 Ford Focus is Right for You

TheSeeker
In 1903 Henry Ford started the Ford Motor company. The key to Ford's early sucesses lie in his creation of a manuracturing method that became known as Fordism. Using large scale assembly lines and high pay for his employees, Henry Ford was able to retain workers for the long haul, and meet the demands of a growing number of people who wanted and needed transportation in the early twenth century. Today, Ford Motor's is the third largest auto seller in the world based on publically avialable sales figures. In 2007 Ford's revenue was approximatly 174 billion dollars. Ford also won more quality awards that year than any other auto maker. Ford's headquaters are based out of Dearborn, Michigan near Detriot, the auto-capital of the world. Ford owns a wide variety of brands such as Lincoln and Mercury. A famous example of Ford's success is the Ford Focus and one we are going to discuss today.

The 2009 Ford Focus is a pretty car in my opinion but a little disppointing in the technology department considering the price of gas now and seemingly in the future. Please keep in mind that some of these statements are based on evaluations of the 2008 model of the Ford Focus. We first got a look at the 2009 Ford Focus during American Idol in May of 2008 and immediately noticed some small subtle changes to the vehicle. The front end has been redesigned and seventeen inch aluminum wheels had been added. Based on what we could learn, one of the models of the 2009 Ford Focus will have slightly more power with no loss of fuel economy. This new performace model of the 2009 Ford Focus will have a slightly higher price tag as well. The Ford Focus has an above average fuel economy compared to the average American car but still is lacking in features that Americans want. Specifically hybrid or electric options. Ford has a slim opportunity to jump the gun on other automakers and make these options a standard but I doubt they will do so before its too late to take advantage of the opportunity it would present. At an average 34 mpg on the highway and 27 in the city even the so called fuel sipping Ford Focus will cost more to drive this year that the average driver is interested in paying.

I suggest you do your research before buying a 2009 Ford Focus when it becomes available later this summer. The 2009 Focus is one option for Americans and it is an American made car which would help our economy greatly if we were willing to invest in it. However other offerings may be more to your liking.
