You can easily decorate Christmas cookies using edible royal icing and edible candy to make Christmas tree cookies. Purchase refrigerated Pillsbury sugar cookie dough and prepare them as directed on the package using a Christmas tree cookie cutter. You can find a Wilton comfort grip Christmas tree cookie cutter on amazon.com. Bake your cookies according to the package for rolled cut out cookies and let them cool. Next, you will prepare some royal icing, which is a great icing to use when decorating Christmas cookies. Bake your gingerbread man cookies as directed on the package and let them cool. Make up some Royal Icing frosting from The Joy of Baking website. Using a pastry bag and a plain tip add your royal icing in the pastry bag. Next, outline your gingerbread man cookie with the white royal icing. Make some eyes, a mouth, and three buttons. Next, add some candy edible pearls for the eyes and buttons. You can find the candy edible pearls on the Country Sweetart website. The pearls come in many different colors. You can use some red and green for the buttons. Make one gingerbread man with green buttons and another with red buttons. You can use blue, ivory, black, oyster, or white color for the eyes.
