Learning how to decorate a church for a wedding can be a daunting task, especially as you approach your wedding day and all that you need to do start piling up on you. There is no need to make it look terribly extravagant, as the whole point of having it at the church is really to embrace the religious aspect - this makes decorating it that much easier.

Make sure to focus a lot of your decorations on the front part of the church. This will allow you guests to experience your décor all the same way look upon you and your partner as you are married to one another. Everyone in the wedding party and all of the guests will be focusing their eyes toward the front of the church. This makes decorating it that much more important. If your decorating budget is either small or large, just make sure to focus a good percentage of it towards the front of the church space.

Placing flowers in the front of the church can be an additional, beautiful touch. Most of the time you'll find a couple of flower arrangements that are placed directly behind the wedding party as they stand in front. If you have the budget, spend a little extra on flowers to decorate the pew, this can be an added touch of elegance!

When considering how to decorate a church for a wedding it's also important to take into consideration the color theme of the church. You'll want to choose fabric that compliments the colors of the church; otherwise your wedding might end up looking like a kaleidoscope of colors! Keep the color theme of the church in mind when choosing flower colors as well.

It's important to decide whether or not you want to incorporate an aisle runner for the ceremony as well. Some churches may not permit these to be there, most churches are ok with runners. An aisle runner can be either a long piece of fabric for you to walk down on, or even a large amount of flower petals spread through the walkway can be a beautiful touch. I did this for my wedding and people loved it! If you go the flower petal route, try and find them at wholesale price, at a flower wholesale store if possible.

As you decide how to decorate a church for a wedding keep in mind the visual aspect of finding the church for your guests. Some communities have many churches in a small area and it will help to place some flowers outside of the church, perhaps hanging from the entrance. This will help your guests to know exactly where the wedding is. And it will look great too!

Decorating your church of choosing should be both fun and rewarding. Just make sure to be aware of your budget throughout the entire planning process.
