How to Decorate Your Dorm Room for Christmas

Deck the dorm with boughs of Holly, Fa La la la la. Want to add a touch of home and the spirit of Christmas to your dorm room? Dorms are small and give little to no room for extra decor. With these space saving ideas, you can decorate your dorm this year.

WALL TREE: You can find wall trees now in most retail stores. They are normally made for front door, but can be used well hung on the wall in a dorm room. Not only will it cover those ugly dorm walls it will bring the Christmas spirit into the dorm. Put some lights on it and hang it in a place where it can be plugged in too. Add your own decor and ornaments to give it a homey Christmas glow.

USE THE CEILING: Hang strands of Christmas lights from the ceiling for extra holiday sparkle. You could also get strands of Christmas pine garland and wrap Christmas lights around it to hang from the ceiling. If you hang the pine garland, make sure to secure it well so that you can also hang some Christmas ornaments from it. Who needs a tree when you have a ceiling and some garland.

CHRISTMAS PHOTOS: You could hang some Christmas family photos on the walls too. Simply find some Christmas themed frames and dig out some old family Christmas photos to hang on the wall. You could also use some cheap frames from the dollar store and wrap them in your favorite holiday paper to hang between on beside of the family Christmas photos to add more holiday charm.

SOFT LINES: Curtains, bedding, and rugs are all things that are needed. You could hang Christmas curtains on the window to add the feel of the holidays. You could also replace old bedding such as sheets or the comforter with Christmas ones. Place a Christmas rug in front of your desk and dorm door. These are festive ways to save space and decorate with the Christmas theme.

Get a couple of small decor items to add to your Christmas theme decor also. For example, you could get a Christmas snow globe to set on your desk or get some Christmas kitchen towels to use in your dorm bathroom. You could even get stockings for you and your room mate to fill for one another right before Christmas. Brighten the room with Christmas lights and get into the holiday spirit.
