1. Repurpose Other Easter Decor. For example, why not fill your child's Easter basket with fresh fruit and some chocolate covered Easter bunnies?
If you are serving a buffet then place your simple basket there!
You can also use wrapped chocolate Easter bunnies to create some vertical height on a buffet table. Once dinner is over you can open that Chocolate Easter bunny up and treat yourself!
Turn a simple Easter basket grass into a plate charger. This is a great look for a buffet. Simply lay the Easter basket grass on your table. Place your diner plate on the Easter basket grass, making sure you cover the circle. This adds texture and color to the table. Green is very appetizing!
2. Pastel Wrapping paper. Don't go investing in an expensive cloth tablecloth for Easter. I like to call holiday specific tablecloths uni taskers. They have only one use throughout the year and end up taking up all of my storage space. They also can eat away at your budget.
Pastel wrapping paper is an affordable away to dress up any Easter dinner table. Simply roll it out across the middle of the Easter dinner table just like a table runner. This simple trick is used with white rolls of paper at Italian restaurants all the time.
You can use patterned pastel wrapping Paper or even some solid pastel colors for Easter. Check out your local dollar store or party source outlet. They always have rolls of pastel wrapping paper for a buck!
3. Tapered Candles. Save your money and skip buying the expensive pillar candles for your holiday party. They will use up a lot of your party money. They also almost always come scented, which can effect how your party food tastes to your guests.
You can buy a Tapered candles for about 50 cents apiece. Each should burn about four hours or so. So, keep this in mind and light them right before your first party guest arrives.
Tapered Candles can easily be displayed in a variety of dishes or glassware that you already have. You can rest them in your glasses and fill in around them with jellybeans.
4. Pastel Easter ribbon. Pastel Ribbon is so affordable and is very handy went decorating dinner table on a budget for Tapered. You can tie a simple purple or yellow ribbon around cloth napkins for an inexpensive yet elegant look. You can also use plain white tablecloth and line the middle of it with Tapered ribbon. Just lay them lengthwise down the table like a runner. You can use fancy fabric ribbon or those rolls of gift-wrapping ribbon.
I like to use the rolls of pastel gift-wrapping ribbon. They are readily available all year long for about $1.99 for a huge roll of four different pastel colors. They are usually about ½ to 1 inch wide, which is great visually. You can weave them together on your tabletop as well.
I also love to dress up my existing candles and candleholders with great pastel or Easter themed ribbon. Simply tie the ribbon around the base of the candle or even around the candleholder. If you are worried about fire then wrap it around the candleholder. Tie the Easter ribbon in the front with great looking bow. Once Easter dinner is over you can remove the ribbon and save it for next year's Easter décor.
