How to Decorate Your Home for the Holidays

Shannon Frye
When it comes to decorating for the holidays you don't want to go over board. You don't want to create a large turkey mural on your wall and then realize that you must paint over it before Christmas comes. You want to decorate your home but you don't want to spend days fixing what you've done unless you have a lot of time on your hands. There are things that you can change in your home to decorate it and you can take them down easily after the holiday is over with and passed.

For example, you can purchase many different pictures frames and holiday photographs. You can have pictures of turkeys, Santa clause, the north pole, the easter bunny, etc. For each holiday you can have a separate set of pictures that you will replace your current pictures with. You can do this for each holiday. If you don't have the money do to this you can print off picture online with your printer and replace the current pictures with the pictures you print off. You can pick up a few photo frames each month so that when the next holiday comes you can just hang up the picture and take the old picture down.

You can purchase a different hanging to place on the door handle for each holiday. You can purchase different items from the craft store that will produce holiday colors such as orange and black for Halloween and red and green for Christmas. You can purchase different holiday items during the holidays or you can save money and purchase the items after the holiday has passed. You can usually purchase decor at about 50% off after the holiday is over with because the stores want to get rid of the inventory.

You can purchase different candle holders and jars for different holidays. You can buy different hand towels and replace your hand towels with each passing holiday. You can even purchase different rugs for Halloween, Christmas and Thanksgiving. You can pretty much change the whole look of your home without painting or doing anything that will be drastic. Have fun with the holidays and decorate your home with each holiday.

A good place to purchase some decorations, rugs and candle holders would be online. Collections Etc. is a magazine which you get for free in the mail and they have a wide variety of different holiday related items. You will also want to search on eBay as well to get some good deals while you look for different items to place in your home.
