Now here are some things to use to decorate the used basket. These decorations can be purchased at any craft store or store that has a crafting dept. It will depend on the size of the basket, how and what to decorate it with. First get ribbon ¾ to 1 inch wide, lace 1 to 1 ½ inch wide, and hot glue and gun. When ready to decorate the old basket have in mind what will be placed in it.
With a small or medium size basket, artificial flowers would be nice. So purchase some artificial flowers, unless there is some already lying around. Also another item needed when using flowers, is a block of green floral foam to secure the flowers. Artificial foliage is always nice to mix in the flowers. Next an artificial butterfly or bird which has wire that can be attached in the basket with flowers. All of these can be bought at the craft store or crafting dept. Now glue lace around the top of the basket. Now glue the ribbon over top of the lace, leaving enough ribbon to hang down about 4 to 5 inches after it is tied. Take enough ribbon to tie a nice size bow. Next put a dab or drop of glue on the bow where it is tied before attaching it to the ribbon on the basket. Gluing the bow is to assure that it won't come untied. Then glue it to the ribbon at the tie.
These are some other things that can be placed in a small or medium size basket that has been decorated to use again. The basket can be filled with trail size beauty aids. Some examples are; shampoo, body wash, mouth wash, cologne, toothpaste, a toothbrush, Q-tips, travel hair brush, and comb. Now cover the basket with saran wrap, this will make a great gift for either woman or man. Of course with a larger old basket, after it has been decorated, then fill it with full size beauty aids. Another use of the old basket would be to decorate it in the colors for a baby. Then fill it with trail size baby items. Again if decorating a larger basket with baby colors, add full size baby items. These also would make nice shower gifts.
Another use of an old or used basket would be to decorate it the colors of the kitchen. Now place artificial fruit in the basket to be placed on the table or counter top just for décor. This also would make a nice gift for a friend, just use their colors to decorate it.
Used or old baskets can be decorated by other items being placed inside it. Other examples are to glue the lace around the top and handle of the basket with a ribbon on top of the lace. Now sit a bear inside of it or place a doll in it, then glue a nice size bow with ribbon hanging down on the handle. Also placing an angel in the decorated basket would make a nice gift. Just be sure to use an angel that will fit well for the size of the basket. Of course after the basket is decorated, then the angel has been glued in it the whole project can be spray painted. With silver spray paint, spray the decorated basket and the angel until it all is covered. There are many others ways to decorate, along with other uses for the old used basket.
