Every year we have at home the same discussion: How will we decorate the Christmas tree? How can we have a Christmas tree originally decorated? Jeez, in the Sates we have the Christmas tree and decorations from Thanksgiving to after New Year, it is a lot of time, and suppose a big deal to see them everyday. Therefore, I was thinking about it, and this year I will experiment with the tree decorations; worst case, we can always live in the doggy house in the yard.
There are many original ways to decorate the Christmas tree. The point is to think about a theme and find the materials to make the ornaments. The first rule of a good Christmas decorator is never throw away anything, decorations from past years can be used in the future, like they are or remaking them. Second rule, sky is the limit, dare to improvise and experiment, decoration is an art, and must be brave. Third rule, try to make the Christmas tree's decoration a family event, it is a good chance to work as a team, and to strength bonds.
1.One of the theme to decorate the Christmas tree that is popular and fun, and the number one on the children's preferences, is the candy one. You take your children to candy shopping, pick the hard ones with the shinier covers, colorful round gummies, and glazed gummy bears. Tie them on ropes, making candy garlands. Hung up the branches more candies and Christmas candy cones. At the top of the tree, you can put a Santa with a bag of candies; they sell them at the Dollar Store. Remember to throw candies in the tree skirt, and have a serious talk with your children, will be nice if the decoration lasts at least until Christmas Day.
2. An easy and original way to decorate the tree is using white twisted toilet paper to make the garlands, and throwing around the branches clouds of white cotton sparkled with silver glitter. You can make bows with the toilet paper for the tips of the branches.
3. Another idea is let your kids paint pasta pieces (the ones with holes) with bright colors, and use them as ornaments. You can add painted cheerios or fruit loops to make a happy food Christmas tree. Make garlands with painted macaroni and colorful popcorn.
4. More classic is to have a family pictures decorated Christmas tree, you can put the family photos inside clear balls and hung them, or, if you want more originality, collect a lot of pictures from all your family, glue them to pieces of carton, add a string to the back and hung them all around the branches. Do not forget to write the names under the photos, so your children can learn about their families.
5. In the family area, we can choose some of the favorite's objects that better describe the personalities of our family members, and hung them up the tree. Will be the best to try to find these objects in small size, so you can hang them.
6. A cookie Christmas tree looks warming, you have to bake a bunch of miniature cookies of all kind, sugar, chocolate, ginger, whatever, apply a string on them and hung them up. If you used glue, do not let your kids eat them.
7. Children would love a cartoon or movie themed Christmas tree. Let them choose one, and go to a party supplies shop, find items related to the selected cartoon or movie and make them able to be hanged up using thin strings. At the birthdays' section of the stores, there are many products like that, so you can have a "Happy Feet" tree, or "Cars", or even "Superman" or "Pokemon".
8. If you have at home some old colorful sheets, table covers or different fabrics, cut them in little strips, and you can use them to make cute bows. Tie some of the strips together on line to make colorful garlands. If you want to elaborate more, put together a handful of fabric's strips and using glue make balls, which would look fantastic as tree ornaments.
9. Moreover, you can go natural, decorating your Christmas tree with dry or fresh flowers, small pinecones, little tree brunches or small fruits.
The options are almost infinite, the only thing you have to do to have an original Christmas tree this year is use your imagination and have fun.
