How to Decorate Plasma TV Walls

Decorate plasma TV walls at home to showcase your prized possession. Turn your TV into an actual element in your interior design scheme, rather than an electronic eyesore. Make the television a decorative focal piece in the room instead of it competing with other elements for attention. This can be done in any design style, from traditional to contemporary. It all depends on the type of accessories that you choose to incorporate when you decorate plasma walls.

Paint the wall a separate accent color then the rest of the space. For example, if the walls of the room that your television is in are painted a light tan, paint the wall you hang it from a bright red or a dark chocolate brown.

Paint a square or a rectangle around the TV in the same color as the other walls in the room to really make it stand out. Other options include installing picture frame molding around the TV to create the allusion of an art piece.

Hang two smaller pieces of artwork on either side of the television if it is centered on the wall. Examples to decorate plasma TV walls include paintings, mirrors, candle sconces or shelving for your movie collection to make the television a focal point in the space.

Hang artwork the same size of the TV on the wall, if the television is not centered. Measure the distance from the corner of the wall to the TV and hang the artwork the same distance away from the opposite corner of the wall to balance it out.

Install a faux or electric fireplace, with a mantle, below the TV for additional drama. Decorate the mantle on a plasma TV wall like you would any other real fireplace mantle, with candles, family photos and other accessories that match your interior design style.

Tips:
If you want to hide the Plasma TV, install it into a cut out alcove in the wall and hang artwork on runners in front of it. This allows you to slide the painting out of the way when you want to watch television and cover it up when entertaining guests. Custom covers are another option to hide plasma TVs.
