During the recent festive season, my kitchen was inundated with boxes and plastic containers full of cookies and other tidbits.
In no time at all, the cookies and other snacks were eaten, and all that was left were these plastic, very non-biodegradable containers.
So I decided to turn them into gift/storage boxes, instead of throwing them in the trash.
Here, I've used 3 plastic cookie and chocolate containers, 1 square and 2 heart-shaped (large and small).
I covered the lids with tile grout (light brown) and decorated the lids with some old costume jewellery such as faux gold earrings and a chain, as well as some extra ribbon.
I've since used one of the containers as a gift box, and the other two to store odds and ends such as pins and clips.
