Use the Old to Make Something New
Thrift stores all across our nation have a wide array of objects that can be used to create unique Christmas decorations. Don't be afraid to use something old or used to create a new and vibrant addition to your holiday décor. Look for items that can hold, display, or store festive Christmas ornaments. These thrifty bargains might include wrought iron bowls, translucent vases, or displayable accessories. For example, you can take and old coffee cup rack and paint it black or metallic silver or gold. Then, use some of you most colorful ornaments and hang them from the coffee cup hooks. What a beautiful way to use something like an old coffee cup holder to create a new cheerful Christmas table decoration.
Spruce up Light Fixtures
Unique Christmas decorations can be a part of home accessories that are already currently in use. For example, you can add some berry vine to a current light fixture and create a whole new look to your dining room, kitchen, or living room. In addition, Christmas balls can be hung from the posts of your chandelier to create a sparkly light fixture. Ornaments, berry balls, and wicker ornaments can also be incorporated into the base of most hanging light fixtures. For table lamps, you can take holiday berry vine or greenery and wrap it around the base of the lamp. You could even add some small metallic ornaments to the greenery to create an even more unique Christmas decoration.
Decorate Shelves or Mantles with Unique Accessories
The days of Christmas decorating with perfectly matched symmetric accessories has come and gone. If you are decorating a shelf or a mantle, don't just put a candle on either end with some greenery in between. Be eccentric. Be creative. Put a candle next to a tall vase at one end and a silver reindeer with a small wooden Christmas tree at the other. As long as the Christmas shelf or holiday mantle has balance and harmony, use unique accessories to decorate your living space.
