Foam pieces are easy to craft or decorate with glue then whatever you want to put them on. The foam shapes come in some pieces that are shaped in ways that all is needed is other pieces to make complete items. These decorated items are picture frames, bookmarks, door hangers, and of course they can be added to new items to decorate. The small craft frames, bookmarks, and door hangers come in that shape, plain but ready for decorating. There are crafting foam pieces that are in the shape of smiling faces, dinosaurs, stars, squares, circles, balls, cars, victory flags, bats, hearts, and so much more. These are purchased in big round buckets or square plastic containers with 50 to 75 pieces or shapes in them.
Now another idea is to take an old picture frame or an old jewelry box, then choose which foam shapes to use to decorate them to look better or different. Another example, if there is a bad or damaged place on the item; this could be covered by one of the foam shapes. So use one of the foam shapes with glue on it, and then place it over the damaged area. Now that it is covered it looks like a different item completely. If choose, put the foam craft pieces on a wooden frame, old or new, then place the foam pieces across the top and/or down the sides for a decorative look.
Next get a small round mirror or any other shape that can be decorated. Then place the craft pieces around the edge to decorate it. After the mirror is finished, it will be nice just to hang anywhere or give as a gift. A foam door hanger is nice to decorate or put it and some of the crafting shapes in a plastic bag, then give to a child as a gift. Another idea for a child would be to place the shapes on a piece of construction paper then laminate to hang in their room.
Now another idea would be to have the craft foam door hangers or frames for a child's class at school or Sunday school for each child. Now have enough foam shapes and glue for all the children. This gives them everything they need to decorate their own door hanger or foam frame for art.
Since children love to do crafts give them the foam shapes to use. While at home let them choose which pieces needed to decorate something of their own.
