How to Decorate a Vintage Bike for an Outside Holiday Display

Pam Parent
A decorated vintage bike makes a charming holiday display, and is a seasonal work of art. Display the vintage bike on the porch, or by a group of decorated trees on the lawn. If you don't have a vintage bike, they can be found at flea markets and antique stores.

Supplies:

String of vintage-style outdoor bulbs
Floral wire
Wire cutters
Holiday swag
Pine cones
Berries
Glue gun and sticks
Plaid bow

1. Glue the plaid bow to the center of the holiday swag. Glue berries and pine cones on the bow and throughout the swag.

2. Place the holiday swag centered on the vintage bike. Secure the swag to the handlebars with the floral wire. Cut wire with the wire cutters.

3. Wrap the vintage lights around the handlebars, spokes, frame and tires of the vintage bike. Make sure the bike is completely covered with lights.

Adding a basket to the front of the vintage bike, and filling it with greenery and pine cones, is another decorating option.

This vintage bike holiday display also looks charming hung on the front of a garage or barn.
