How to Make a Decorative Thanksgiving Sign

Shannon Frye
The only items that you will need to make this craft is come construction paper, markers, scissors, string and a hole puncher. The whole process will not take you any longer than an hour to do. It's fun to do with family and children. The first thing you will need to do is gather all of your supplies. You will then want to draw out the letters of Thanksgiving. Draw them each out separately. You will then cut out the letters and pass them on the next person to trace, or they can create their own letters and cut them out. Make them at least five inches tall.

The next thing that you will want to do is color all of the letters. You can use crayons or markers. You can add glitter to them if you would like to. Decorative them any way that you like. This shouldn't take you any longer than about 30-40 minutes. You can purchase glitter from any craft store if you decide to use glitter. You can purchase glue as well to get the glitter to stick to the glue.

The next thing that you will want to do is wait for everything to dry. This way you don't end up with glitter all over you or marker all over your fingers. When everything is completely dry, you will want to punch a hole in the top of each letter. You can choose to punch a hole at the top of each letter or you can purchase a hole on the side of all of the letters. You will need to use some type of string or yarn to keep the letters connection.

You will want to thread the string through all of the letters. You can connect each letter individually. You can leave a wide space in between the letters or you can pull them close together. There are many different things you can do with the Thanksgiving sign. You can punch a hole in the top of the entire sign and hang it from the wall. You can also hang it up above your door way to decorate your home as well. This decoration is very cheap to make and it doesn't require a lot of time or work. The whole family will love to make these decorations. You can write your name on the back of your sign to make sure you have the right one. You can add more letters to the sign if you would like to.
