Almost everybody has a least one computer in their home, but not everybody has a wireless internet connection, for their desktop, but in this article, I am going to show you how to give your desktop wireless capability, if you can't afford a laptop, or not crazy about surfing the web over the phone.
  1. Go to Walmart or your local electronic store, For example, Best buy or Radio Shack ,and When you get to Walmart or any other electronic store, and ask the store clerk, What do I need to make my desktop computer wireless?, and the store clerk will tell you, You will need a wireless router, a modem, and a pci card, that you can install inside your desktop, or a wireless network adapter, you plug in back of your desktop.

    2. Now, lets assume you decide to buy a wireless router modem combo, and you buy the wireless network adapter , and then you would purchase the wireless router modem and the wireless network adapter.

  2. 3. When you get home, take your wireless router modem combo out. It will come with a installation cd, some important cords, and make sure you hook the cord from your wireless router modem combo, to the back of your desktop, and that your router is plugged into the wall socket, and your phone line, if you are using a wireless dsl connection.
  3. 4. Now, insert the installation cd that came with your wireless router, and you will see the instuctions, and you will need to follow them. If you have any problems, you can always call tech support, and if the installation is correct, you should be able to unplug the cord from your computer and wireless router, and have a wireless internet connection.
  4. 5. Now, take your wireless network adapter out. It will also come with a installation cd, manuel and cords and , take the cord and hook it up from your wireless network adapter, to the back of your desktop hard drive, and then insert the installation cd in your cd rom drive, and follow what it says on your computer screen, and make sure you follow the instuctions correctly.

  5. 6. Now, you should be able to unplug the the cord from your wireless network adapter and desktop, and plug the wireless network adapter in the back of your desktop hard drive, and have a wireless internet connection. Now if you need help, you can always call tech support.
