The ideal weight for women is based on height and body frame. This is also estimated for women ages 25 - 59. It is beneficial to determine what type of body frame a woman has and her height before figuring an ideal weight. Every woman's body is different, but these estimates will provide a range for the ideal weight.
The first thing you need to do is determine what type of frame you are. Extend your arm in front of you palm facing up. Bend your arm bringing your palm toward your face at a 90-degree angle. Using opposite hand, use your fingers to find the two jutting bones in your bent elbow. Measure the distance between the two bones.
Use the numbers below to find your measurement. The chart uses numbers for a medium frame. If your number is below, you are considered a small frame. If number is higher, you are considered a large frame.
4'10" - 5" = 21/4" to 2 1/2 "
5'1" - 5'3" = 2 1/4" to 2 1/2"
5'4" - 5'7" = 2 3/8" to 2 5/8"
5'8" - 5'11" = 2 3/8" to 2 5/8"
6" = 2 1/2" to 2 3/4"
Now that you know what type of frame you have, it is time to jump back on that scale. Based on the frame size you are, your height, and the number on the scale, you can see if you fit into the parameters for your ideal weight. Use the numbers below. You might be surprised to find that you are just right for your height and frame. If you are a couple pounds off, by adjusting your diet and adding some cardio to your exercise regime, you can loose those pounds quite easily.
